A Canon. A Typeface.
An Alphabet.
From A, as in Anatomy
to Z, as in Zone.
Editor’s Note Alongside Grilli Type’s latest release, we have compiled a loose compendium of aesthetic terms, which pose a certain inevitability to every motivated graphic or type designer. Following the optical styles of the typeface, we organised our reasoning from the general to the special: Large (the term as such), Medium (in aesthetics or design), Small (in type design). Each of these introductory texts is followed by a reading, which is sometimes evident and at other times more associative: an ambivalent, fragmented canon of literature, imagery and philosophy. Must-reads, never-heard-of-reads, hidden treasures, all-time-classics and many other delights. A canon set in GT Canon.
